How the pay compares

This posting doesn't publish pay. 1816 of the 3800 AI-engineering roles worldwide on this board do: the middle half pay $178k–$266k, with a median of $225k. Too few roles in Denmark publish pay for a local comparison, so this is every country together — mostly US pay.

Job description

About Sygaldry

Sygaldry Technologies is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to exponentially speed up training and inference for AI. By integrating quantum and AI, we're accelerating the path to super intelligence, and engineering the conditions for it to scale efficiently and operate affordably. Sygaldry AI servers combine multiple qubit types within a single, fault-tolerant architecture to deliver the combination of cost, scale, and speed necessary for advanced AI applications. We pioneer new domains in physics, engineering, and AI, tackling the hardest challenges with a grounded, optimistic, and rigorous culture. We're looking for individuals ready to define the intersection of quantum and AI and drive its profound global impact.

What You'll Work On:

  • Develop theoretical and numerical models of qubit devices, gate operations, and physical-layer processes to guide next-generation processor design
  • Design and evaluate system architectures under hardware-specific constraints and realistic noise models
  • Translate device-level physics into architecture-level requirements, and architecture-level goals into concrete device specifications
  • Determine error budgets and gate fidelity requirements from architecture-level targets
  • Build simulation and modeling tools for system design, performance analysis, and roadmap planning
  • Work directly with the hardware team to inform device design and validate models
  • Lead high-impact research projects with a multidisciplinary team of experimental and theoretical physicists, engineers, and computer scientists

You May Be a Good Fit If You Have:

  • A PhD in physics, applied physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent degree in a similar field
  • 5–10 years of experience in the theory and modeling of quantum computing hardware
  • Publications in quantum device physics, quantum architecture, or related fields
  • Strong programming skills in a scientific computing environment
  • Proven track record of successful cross-team collaborative projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong Candidates May Have:

  • Experience translating cutting-edge R&D into commercial products or roadmap milestones
  • Experience with the modeling of multiple or heterogeneous qubit platforms
  • Experience translating abstract models into hardware-aware protocols
  • Experience bridging theory and experiment on real quantum hardware
  • Familiarity with quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architecture

Why This Matters

Your work accelerates the path to quantum super intelligence. Each quantum component integrated, each AI model enhanced, each instruction set optimized brings us closer to a future where intelligence and quantum mechanics are inextricably intertwined. We're not building incremental improvements—we're creating exponential transformations that will make AI more affordable, sustainable, personalized, and fundamentally more capable.

How We’re Different

We’re building the infrastructure for quantum super intelligence and pioneering new domains at the intersection of physics, engineering, and AI. At Sygaldry, curiosity and intellectual courage drive our work. We approach ambitious challenges with a grounded, optimistic, and rigorous culture and know that kind people build the strongest teams. We prioritize mission over ego and collaborate openly with a strong sense of shared purpose. We dream big, yet we execute with a love of detail.
