We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to shape the architecture and delivery of our modern, AWS-native platform powering underwriting intelligence, GenAI-driven analysis, and high-volume content processing.
Working across Python,.NET, PostgreSQL/Aurora, OpenSearch, and LangGraph-based services, you will own technical direction, system quality, scalability, and reliability across the platform. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical leadership responsibility, including setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and coordinating across product and platform teams.
- Shape platform architecture across ingestion, transformation, storage, APIs, and AI-powered services, ensuring scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
- Own end-to-end technical delivery of AWS Batch content pipelines, Lambda-based workflows, and.NET 8 REST/GraphQL APIs.
- Drive architecture decisions around Aurora PostgreSQL, graph-based data models, and OpenSearch to support GenAI retrieval and high-volume workloads.
- Define and champion engineering, data quality, testing, and observability standards across platforms including Pentaho, ThoughtSpot, CloudWatch, and Splunk.
- Partner with ML and Product Engineering teams to ensure LangGraph-based RAG pipelines have reliable, current, and well-structured data and service layers.
- Shape LLM evaluation and prompt data pipelines, including ground-truth and synthetic datasets for testing and model quality.
- Apply senior technical judgment to review and validate AI-assisted engineering output before production deployment.
- Lead architecture discussions through technical briefs, RFCs, design reviews, and documented trade-offs.
- Define testing, rollout, monitoring, and rollback strategies for critical platform changes.
- Lead production incident reviews and postmortems, driving actions that improve reliability and operational resilience.
- Establish and evolve engineering standards and best practices, reinforcing them through code reviews and practical examples.
- Mentor engineers on software architecture, data engineering, design patterns, and responsible AI-assisted development.
- Coordinate technical dependencies across product squads, ensuring clear interfaces, effective collaboration, and smooth delivery.
- Communicate technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and delivery impacts clearly to engineering and business stakeholders.
- Extensive software engineering experience, with a proven track record of building and operating production systems and data pipelines at scale.
- Strong software architecture and system design expertise, with experience making and documenting complex technical trade-offs.
- Advanced experience with.NET / C#, including production services and APIs using REST and GraphQL.
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS, including S3, Batch, Lambda, SNS, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, EKS, and CloudWatch.
- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, query optimization, and graph-based data modelling.
- Experience designing distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems, with robust observability, recovery, and rollback strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed services, using logs, metrics, and traces with tools such as Splunk and CloudWatch.
- Experience with CI/CD and Agile delivery, using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, including mentoring engineers, leading design reviews and RFCs, and coordinating across teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have:
- Python 3.10+ experience, including Pandas, BeautifulSoup, and XML/HTML processing.
- Hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or other LLM/agentic frameworks.
- Experience with OpenSearch or vector search technologies for RAG applications.
We offer:
- The opportunity to shape the architecture of a modern, AWS-native platform with significant technical ownership.
- The chance to work with cutting-edge technologies across cloud, data engineering, GenAI, and AI-powered services.
- A collaborative environment where you can influence engineering standards, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions.
- A hybrid work model with flexible working hours.
- Private health insurance, medical care, and a Multisport card.
