How the pay compares
This posting doesn't publish pay. 803 of the 1709 AI Agents roles worldwide on this board do: the middle half pay $173k–$260k, with a median of $218k. Too few roles in Australia publish pay for a local comparison, so this is every country together — mostly US pay.

Job description
The Opportunity
We're looking for an AI Architect to help enterprise clients responsibly build, deploy, and scale generative AI and agentic capabilities across Adobe Experience Cloud. This is a client-facing, technical advisory role — not hands-on model training or research — for someone who can blend deep architecture expertise with strong business insight and executive presence.
You'll collaborate with Adobe consultants and client participants to evaluate AI/LLM readiness, establish governance and roadmaps, and direct the architecture of RAG systems, AI agents, and LLM-powered features. You will also build trusted advisor relationships that last beyond one project.
What you’ll do:
Enterprise & AI Architecture
- Serve as lead technical point of contact across multiple concurrent customer engagements
- Build enterprise architectures and roadmaps incorporating RAG, AI agents, and automated workflows
- Evaluate clients' existing architecture and AI/LLM preparedness, and pinpoint gaps to their desired state
- Align business strategy, IT roadmaps, and delivery teams building AI-powered features
AI Governance, Risk & Quality
- Define governance models covering data privacy, consent, access controls, and responsible-AI guardrails
- Offer recommendations on measurement frameworks for AI output quality, accuracy, cost, and latency
- Advise on AI security architecture, including prompt-injection defenses
- Document reference architectures for RAG, agent orchestration, and LLM integration patterns
Advisory, Enablement & Communication
- Engage marketers, analysts, developers, data scientists, and C-level execs via workshops and deliverables
- Provide enablement and mentoring on product features and AI optimization
- Translate LLM architecture concepts into clear technical writing and executive presentations
- Manage expectations, scope, and timelines across engagements
What you bring:
- 10+ years in a client-facing role with a track record building enterprise architecture models
- Ability to translate business vision into technical architecture, including where GenAI drives real value
- Strong communication skills across technical and executive audiences
- Experience with architecture frameworks (API-first, SOA, TOGAF)
- Strong understanding of Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Experience Platform, and Experience Cloud
- Working knowledge of RAG, AI agents, and timely engineering for accuracy, cost, and latency
- Familiarity with an LLM orchestration framework (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)
- Strong Python literacy and API build/integration proficiency across LLM and cloud-native services
- Experience with Agile/Scrum/Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Practical experience with HTML, JavaScript, XML, Java, REST, and architecture based on services
- Understanding of Azure and/or AWS, including native LLM offerings (Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock)
- Bachelor's or master's in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO)
- Hands-on experience building/reviewing AI agents, or LLM evaluation & observability tools (e.g., LangSmith, Datadog)
- Deep vertical industry experience (Retail, Media, Financial Services, High Tech)
- Relevant Adobe certifications (AEM, Adobe Analytics, Experience Platform Architect)
- Familiarity with consent/privacy platforms and regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
